I watched game 1 of the World Series. Cliff Lee is looking mighty impressive. Phillies won 6-1 over the Yankees!

I watched the Wanda Sykes comedy special - I'ma Be Me - it was OK. It wasn't that great.
I talked to Paul. He told me that the first band at ABC No Rio kinda sucked but the last three were good. He said people were very welcoming. Almost too welcoming in that he was being hit on by jailbait.
I talked to Boesen about football and wrestling. He told me he has this sports package at his place with the NFL Red Zone channel which just airs for 7 hours a week and shows when teams are in the red zone. It's a better's paradise. We also talked about how in WWE only Americans and Canadians have held the world title.
My cousin Darren and Uncle Bob came over. I talked with them for a while and showed Darren snippets of my script.

Lauren said she wanted to go out and get drinks with me sometime. Right now she's upstate for the weekend. So it should be soon, hopefully.

I was supposed to meet Paul at ABC No Rio and we were going to see the matinee of punk bands but he was 40 minutes late. I waited a half hour for him but then I left. When I left and was on the shuttle bus I heard that I had a voicemail from him. Bad timing. He's going to come by on Monday night.

I watched the final episode of season 1 of Hung - that's a great show.
I bought Mary a GG Allin and the Jabbers shirt at Trash and Vaudeville on St. Marks. It's the "Don't Talk to Me" shirt. There was a better shirt but it was 27, and this one was 22, and I'm jobless. I also thought about getting her a Sid Vicious t-shirt that looked really nice but she already has a Sid shirt.
I returned my GameShark to Videogamesnewyork for a different model...but it still doesn't support most of my games that I need help with. Boo.

I finished watching disc 2 (1998-2002) of The Best of Raw 15th Anniversary.
today -
I sorta watched Mickey Blue Eyes. I didn't really pay attention but I thought it was pretty funny.
I also won a playoffs with the Jazz in Kobe Bryant's NBA Courtside. I beat the Bulls 48-28 in the Finals game.

This was the first night of the warm weather season I slept without the air conditioner. I haven't slept it with it since.

I watched the replay of Derek Jeter's 2722nd hit as a Yankee.
I watched Wrestlemania V. I'd say it was a pretty weak Wrestlemania. The best match was the main event - Hulk Hogan v. the Macho Man. The Twin Towers v. The Rockers was pretty good too.
I finished reading Mao II by Don DeLillo. All I can say is it's a perfect depiction of the post-modern novel.

I finished watching season 8 of Seinfeld . My favorite episodes were The Bizarro Jerry, The Package, The Chicken Roaster, The Abstinence, The Yada Yada, The Muffin Tops. It was a pretty good season. I still think season 4 was the best so far.
I gave Annalisa a call....she was talking about how Willie was going to drive up to Mary's party and wanted her to come along, but she couldn't, it's too long a ride. But she said I should come down to Tennessee to see her. I think I might just do that if I don't get the job at the tutoring agency. If I do, I'm going to go in the winter, maybe spend Christmas with her.
I started watching the first Wrestlemania
today -
I finished watching the first Wrestlemania - it was pretty good. King Kong Bundy really impressed me at how agile he was for a 450+ pound guy. The best match was probably David Sammartino vs. Brutus Beefcake. The wrestling was top notch and the production wasn't quite up to par with later Wrestlemanias, but it was still a beacon of light in a mid-80s wrestling world.
I watched episode 9 of Hung - I really think that's a great show.
I listened to the Stilllife CD "Minutes" - the best tracks were Claptrap and 4 Trax. I'd give the album an 8.5/10. It's really good underground hip-hop from my friend Matt V.

I watched Milk - what an inspiring movie - Harvey Milk is a true American hero and original. What a great film. I recommend everyone to watch this film. Sean Penn was amazing as Harvey Milk.

I started reading Irvine Welsh's book Trainspotting - that Scottish dialect is hard to get used to but the book is otherwise awesome.

Listened to the UT album - "In Gut's House" - kinda abrasive noisy no wave music. Starts off with the anthemic "Evangelist" and then kind of tapers off until the end, where the strong tracks "Mosquito Botticelli" and "Landscape" are found. Overall: 6/10

I finished watching season 2 of The Boondocks . Riley and Uncle Ruckus are my favorite characters. The spoof on Ann Coulter was hilarious. I liked season 2 a lot more than season 1.
yesterday -
I decided reading the Plath - Collected Poems was too dense a read right now. So, I decided to read Flannery O'Connor - The Complete Stories instead. I think O'Connor and Ray Carver are the masters of the short story. Updike is pretty good, too. However, I think O'Connor can get lost in confusing unrelated material at times.
I played basketball and did the 3 point shootout - went 3*/1/1/3/4* = 12...10/25....40%. Not bad.

I beat Ninja Gaiden for the NES. That's a hell of a game. 10/10. The cinema features were way ahead of its time and the action is incredible. The soundtrack is dynamic. The play control is completely responsive. The graphics are solid, especially in the cinema scenarios. Better than Ninja Gaiden II, as well.
I started playing Startropics II: Zoda's Revenge for the NES. I beat the original Startropics when I was a kid...never got around to beating the sequel, tho. Hopefully, I'll be able to.
I started reading The People Look Like Flowers at Last by Charles Bukowski . A lot of his poems are a lot more subdued than his novels. I like it a lot though, still.

I finished watching season 9 of The X-Files ....I swear the show is great without him, but with David Duchovny it's the best show ever. The last episode was killer.
I tried to play Kings Quest: Mask of Eternity on Vista....didn't work. That sucks. I swear that's why I prefer console over computer games. It's so much less of a headache with compatibility issues and system specifications.
I played a 3point shootout - 2/2*/1/0/1 = 6. Ouch. That's really only 5/25 from 3 point. Not good.

I beat Robocop for the NES. It was a pretty cool game. Nothing great. Maybe I'd give it a 6/10. A pretty standard platformer.

So, I'm thinking of heading up to Montreal for a weekend with my friend Stacey over the summer. I think that'll be fun. I've never been outside of the country before. However, I have been about 30 minutes from Montreal at the NY-Canada border in Potsdam.

jan 9 - i tried the 3 pt shooting contest. i scored a 1/2/2*/5*/2 = 12. Not bad. That's 10/25 = 40%. I heard NBA players with range hit about 75% of threes unguarded in practice.
